Growing Friends

Keen and aspiring gardeners assist with propagating and growing Western Australian native plants for Friends of Kings Park native plant sales.

The Growing Friends meet in the Nursery behind the Biodiversity Conservation Centre building every Saturday morning or during the week on a rostered basis, usually on a Wednesday.

Each session starts at 8.30am unless notified otherwise. The Group works in the Nursery propagation area, growing plants for the very popular Friends of Kings Park Native Plant Sales, held four times a year.

The size of the Group is  limited in number by the space available within the growing sheds and Nursery. The maximum number on any work day is six.

When the date for the next induction course is decided, members will be advised in good time to register their interest.  Due to space constraints, the numbers will be limited to 15.  As these courses are very popular, interested members are encouraged to register early.

The Park's Volunteer Coordinator receives all volunteer applications. If you are interested in joining the Growing Group, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call our office on 9480 3643.
