Friends of Kings Park

Maintaining Kings Park and continuing its work involves hundreds of people, many of them volunteer members of the Friends of Kings Park.

The Friends of Kings Park was established in 1993 to involve the community in its vision for Kings Park and Botanic Garden as a special place for people and plants.

The Friends encourage interest and public input in the Park through:

  • Membership
  • Education and publication
  • Preserving cultural heritage
  • Active participation in conservation, bushland management and horticulture
  • Research
  • Promotion and publicity
  • Raising funds for special projects such as the Lotterywest Federation Walkway and Lotterywest Family Area.

The Friends of Kings Park currently has in excess of 1300 members who support the Park through their membership subscriptions. About 200 members regularly volunteer their time and efforts to assist in fundraising, growing native plants, bushland restoration, caring for the Botanic Garden and assisting with research.

The Friends are people who have a strong affinity with Kings Park and who value the Park as an integral part of our lifestyle. If you are such a person, join us! As a member of the Friends, your membership investment will support vital research and improvement of Park facilities. We look forward to welcoming you!
